Sharing God’s love in ArnsideJohn 17:20-23
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.
May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me,
that they may be one as we are one – I in them and you in me – so that they may be brought to complete unity.
Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
Over recent years the churches in Arnside have increasingly begun to work more closely together, seeking to share the love of God with the local village and all those who visit.
Arnside Christians Together brings together the Methodist, Anglican, and Roman Catholic communities in the villages of Arnside and Storth to share the love of God in a spirit of unity. We are a partnership of three local churches – Arnside Methodist Church, St. James’ Church (Anglican), and Our Lady of Lourdes (Roman Catholic) – working hand in hand to support one another and to serve our community.
Throughout the year, we join together in worship and prayer, celebrating our shared faith in Christ. Special joint services during key times like Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter provide opportunities for us to come together as one body. Beyond worship, we also collaborate on events and activities that benefit our wider community, from charity fundraisers to social gatherings and activities for families and children.
In 2019 we launched Messy Church in the village. Messy Church helps people encounter
Jesus in fun and exciting ways through, crafts, activities, games, celebration and food.
There is always a 2-course hot meal offered to everyone who comes along.
Messy Church is for Primary School-aged children who come with their
parents/carers and who all get involved in the various activities
